ETHICON AfPP Perioperative Practitioner of the Year Award

2011's Award is now closed, congratulations to Rex Dalaten who has won last year's award.

Do you know of anyone within your department who deserves recognition for an outstanding contribution in delivering quality patient care within the perioperative environment over the past twelve months?  If so then then we would like to hear from you and receive your nominations for the ETHICON/AfPP Perioperative Practitioner of the Year Award 2011.

The winner of this award will receive a generous educational bursary of £1,000 to be spent on any educational activity meeting the winner’s personal development objectives.

Nominations of individuals must be made by fellow perioperative professionals via a written testimonial. Nominees DO NOT have to be an AfPP member but must be eligible for membership.

Below is an update from a past award winner:

"The £1000 money awarded is being used to develop a training/resource room, which will support the continuing professional development and learning needs of the 40 theatre staff of varying grades based within theatres at Stracathro Hospital, NHS Tayside, as well as supporting the educational needs of other staff including nursing students on placement.  As well as IT facilities to access on-line learning, other learning materials will be made available to support learning, including publications, journals, learning packs, and local and national guidelines relevant to nursing and theatre practice.  The training/resource room will also be available for other educational activity, including small teaching sessions, performance reviews and meeting with mentors."
