Online student membership

The membership allows students to access the members' area of the website for:

• a massive library of clinical articles to download for free
• online education and a personal online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio
• discounts to regional events to assist with CPD and Post-Registration Education and Practice (PREP) requirements
• access to funding for education and research

Plus, online student members receive:

• a confidential professional advisory service.

To apply, complete the student application form which your tutor will need to sign then return it by post together with the payment of the £15 fee for the first 12 months of membership. Credit card and direct debit details should be added to the membership form (see below).  Direct debits can be paid at £1.25 a month spreading the cost of membership over the year.

You will receive confirmation of the membership, website log-on details and all communication by email. After 12 months membership you will be renewed with full student membership (see below) for the remaining duration of your studies.

Full student membership

This level of student membership offers full AfPP benefits for just £4.50 per month, or £54 per year. The additional benefits to the online membership are:

• Free monthly newsletter with up to the minute news and views from colleagues around the UK
• Free Journal of Perioperative Practice mailed out each month
• Along with a free Job Forum publication
• Legal Representation
• Student voucher.

An added incentive to taking out full student membership is the student voucher. This voucher permits you to attend all AfPP regional study days which provide a varied programme of education aimed at all levels and specialist areas.

AfPP 2011 

As an AfPP member you will also receive a discounted student rate for  AfPP’s annual Congress & Exhibition is the largest perioperative event of its kind not just in the UK but in the whole of Europe. This year's event takes place in Bournemouth from 19 – 21 October and there are still places available for 2011.

Full student membership is available to all students for the duration of their studies, until registration. To apply you will still need to complete the course verification form providing details of your course and your tutor’s signature. To pay the £54 annual subscription by credit card, you can either apply online here and then forward your course form separately. Or if you would prefer to pay by direct debit compete the application form below and return with your course verification form to AfPP.

Both student membership categories are only available to students on full-time pre-registration courses. Once you have completed your course and are registered, you will then upgrade to registered membership status. At present this is £96 per year, however, to assist recently qualified members during their post course period, we offer a reduced registered membership rate of £84 per year, if you sign up for 2 years.
