Accreditation standards for organisations that hold voluntary registers for health and social care occupations

The Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence promotes the health
and well-being of patients and the public in the regulation of health professionals. It scrutinises and oversees the work of the nine regulatory bodies that set standards for training and conduct of health professionals.

This consultation paper seeks your views on our draft Standards. These have been developed following extensive discussions with organisations that hold voluntary registers and members of the public at a series of workshops, including in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales; discussions with the Office of Fair Trading, the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, and the Solicitors Regulatory Authority; and a review of existing accreditation schemes including in other countries and other relevant guidelines.
