New guidance for the procurement of loan sets

AfPP are delighted to announce the launch of a new guidance on the process for the procurement of loan sets.

Loan sets, particularly within Orthopaedics, can cause not only practitioners, but sterile service staff concern and additional workload for all involved. AfPP together with Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI) and Institute of Decontamination Sciences (IDSc) have produced a document which outlines the process for all involved with the supply and use of loan sets. The guidance will support practitioners through the process from request to return to the supplier and includes checklists and flow charts to assist visually with the process. We hope this guidance will be adopted across the UK.

The guidance can be downloaded from AfPP’s website (http://www.afpp.org.uk/careers/Standards-Guidance - Guidance on the process for the procurement of loan sets) and will form the theme of a workshop at AfPP Congress on 14 October.
