Objectives:

This study day will introduce some aspects of patient care undertaken in Operating Theatres, covering the Operating Theatre Standards & Recommendations and an understanding of the Surgical Count Standards and Accountability.

A glimpse of a Surgeon’s perspective towards a Scrub Practitioner’s role during surgery and an opportunity to discuss the Scrub Practitioner’s expectation from the Surgeon during surgery.

An overview of camera stack training – care and safe use. Which will incorporate perioperative stands to promote patient safety, safe patient positioning & care and safe use of the camera stack system.

Risk management and root cause analysis of adverse incidents will be discussed.

The day will finish with a session covering the NMC and HCPC revalidation.
