AHP Workforce Augmentation

There are 13 different types of different professional curricula that sit under the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and one with the General Osteopathic Council (GOC).

This document has been developed by Chief AHP Officers from across the UK, HCPC and the Council of Deans for Health.  It provides a summary of the work being progressed with respective 4 nation govts, the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Council of Deans for Health to register individuals on an emergency basis to create additional workforce capacity to respond to COVID-19. The intention is to use emergency legislation to enable the HCPC to temporarily register people during this period. The powers will be very similar to those that already exist for the General Medical Council (GMC) and the General Pharmaceutical Council. This would be used both to register recently retired AHPs as well as bringing forwards the registration of AHP students who are close to qualification.
