AfPP Members Playing a Critical Role

AfPP Members Playing a Critical Role

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve spoken to friends and members, virtually and face to face about their experiences of being deployed into critical care areas. Stories of transferred skills but also having to greatly adapt, growing in experience, undertaking the role of ITU staff, learning resilience and amazing teamwork. I’ve also heard accounts of several consecutive night shifts, the harsh realities of caring for COVID19 patients, burnout and not getting the recognition as perioperative practitioners. One reason I was pleased to see a former work colleague and AfPP member, featured on the news recently.

All of us here at AfPP acknowledge the important but difficult roles you are all playing at this time. We are here for you and please be reminded of our 24/7 support from our friends at Togetherall. They are waiting for your call should you need them.
