The new IFPN Executive board will comprise of Mona Guckian Fisher as president (UK), Sarah Bird (ACORN) as Secretary, and Patrick Voight (US) as Treasurer.

Mona commented: “I am delighted to be joining IFPN and I will be working closely with previous presidents to advance the international profile of perioperative nurses and the practice of perioperative patient care for all those involved in delivering it. I want to express my gratitude to my home Association AfPP for the unwavering support I receive in all of these endeavours.”

The International Federation of Perioperative Nurses (IFPN) supports more than 100,000 perioperative nurses globally. The organisation works towards improving patient care by promoting safe surgery and evidence-based best practice standards, through research and education in collaboration with member organisations and other relevant collaborators.

AfPP President, Adrian Jones commented: “Mona’s appointment is fantastic news for our members and we offer her our heartfelt congratulations. Not only can we showcase best practice and influence the international perioperative community, we can continue to forge new contacts and learn from healthcare practitioners across the globe. For members, there has never been a better time to engage with AfPP and have their voice heard at the highest strategic levels!”
