Here at AfPP our members are at the heart of everything we do. We’re constantly looking for ways to support you and your Professional Development and our Saturday Session Webinars are one of the ways we do this. Our Webinars are held throughout the year, are suitable for all perioperative professionals and cover a huge range of relevant and current topics. 

Our live Webinars (lasting between 1 and 2 hours) take place on a Saturday morning and then are available on demand. This is a great way to gain CPD hours from the comfort of your own home!

This session will focus on performing specific tasks, such as examining current practices for prepping ,limbs and understanding their impact on the body. We will explore the use of lithotomy legs, considering both patient and staff safety. Additionally, we will approach manual handling within trusts from a different perspective, aiming to uncover unique insights and improvements.

Menopause, Hormones and Health – Why This is so Important – 30 November 2024

Speaker: Dr Louise Newson

Learning Outcomes:

  1. The role of hormones in the body
  2. Diagnosis and treatment of perimenopause and menopause
  3. HRT – including myths and misconceptions

This session will be an overview of perimenopause and menopause. It will include the use of HRT and surgery. There will be a discussion around menopause in the workplace – the help and support available and options for symptom management. To include the three learning points above.

Green Theatres – What Can You Do? – 25 January 2025

  2. To understand why it is important to be greener
  3. To takeaway practical tips for making your practice more sustainable

This webinar will briefly look at the environmental impact the operating theatre has on the environment and why it is important that we do what we can to minimise this. We will consider what the NHS is currently doing to meet its green targets and what we as individuals can do to help.
