We’re passionate about patient safety and aim to support practitioners at every stage of their career. Read about AfPP’s range of awards and see if any of them grab your attention. The application process is simple. AfPP decides who the recipients of the awards and bursaries are, and as long as you meet the criteria it could be you!
Volunteer Award
Each year, one AfPP member can receive funding of £1,000 to put their skills to good use on overseas voluntary projects.
The purpose of the award is to assist AfPP members to share their knowledge and skills with other volunteer organisations who facilitate care to patients overseas in areas where access to free quality healthcare is not available.
Novice Writer Award
In memory of David Pidduck. Solo writers who have a first article published in the Journal of Perioperative Practice (JPP) between January and December are automatically entered by AfPP for this award.
The winner is selected by the review panel of the Journal’s Editorial Board and will be given an all expenses paid place (excluding travel expenses) at the AfPP Annual National Conference to receive their award, together with a certificate, a book voucher (courtesy of Sage Publishing), and a copy of AfPP’s Standards and Recommendations for Safe Perioperative Practice.
Perioperative Team of the Year
This award recognises a perioperative team which has had a positive impact or made a meaningful difference through their work.
The winning team will be awarded an educational bursary of up to £2,000 to be used within a designated 12 month period.
Educator of the Year Award
An opportunity for AfPP student members to recognise, reward and celebrate exceptional educators who elevate perioperative education and stand out as leaders within their profession.
The winner will receive a free one-year AfPP membership and an official certificate following the award announcement. Our marketing team will also be in touch to arrange a feature article highlighting their achievement.
First Time Attendee Award
The purpose of this award is to assist AfPP members by funding attendance at the AfPP’s Annual National Conference.
It is great opportunity to learn, network and socialise in a relaxed and informal environment. You need to be an AfPP member to qualify.
Free Educational Places
