Join the AfPP Board of Trustees – Elected and Non-elected Vacancies Available
We are excited to announce a rewarding opportunity for individuals to join the Board of Trustees at The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP). We’re currently seeking newly elected trustees as well as additional non-elected trustees appointed based on specific skills and expertise.
This is a fantastic chance to make a real impact on the leadership and governance of our Charity.
Whether you’re an AfPP member ready to stand for election, or a professional with relevant experience looking to contribute in a new way, joining our Board can be an immensely fulfilling experience. You’ll play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction, enhancing patient care and improving the working environment for perioperative professionals.
Whether you’re just starting out or bringing years of experience, we’d love to hear from you.
Trustee Expectations
All trustees are expected to attend quarterly board meetings, held in person at our Harrogate office, usually on a Friday and Saturday. Full travel and accommodation expenses are covered. Outside of these formal meetings, trustees are expected to maintain regular communication to stay engaged with the Charity’s work.
Trustees may also be invited to represent AfPP on advisory committees, which meet either in person or virtually.
Who We’re Looking For
Elected Trustees: Must be nominated by two current AfPP members.
Non-elected Trustees (skills-based): Selected based on relevant expertise. At present, we are particularly interested in individuals with skills in areas such as:
- Commercial knowledge
- Legal
- Governance, compliance and regulatory expertise
- Risk assessment and mitigation
- HR
We’re seeking individuals with strengths in one or more of these areas.
