AfPP’s ‘Go To’ Books for Students
We offer a range of publications, some with particular appeal for students.
Sharing Knowledge in the Perioperative Environment is one of AfPP’s ‘go to’ books for students, their mentors and newly qualified perioperative practitioners. It aims to provide you with practical information, guidance and advice.
It also offers insight into the tools and support available to those undergoing learning and those supporting students.
Another is Theatre Etiquette: A Guide to Theatres, a must for all healthcare professionals working in a perioperative environment.
Let’s hear from our Student and Early Careers SIG representatives:
Kirsty Pierce:
Brandon Wasmuth:
“I am thrilled to be a part of AfPP in this capacity. The community, the learning opportunities, and the chance to connect with other professionals have already been invaluable. I attended an AfPP Roadshow in Leeds then absolutely loved every second of it. I’m looking forward to supporting fellow students and early career practitioners, helping them navigate their journeys just as I am navigating mine.”
Free Student Places
As part of our commitment to students we’ve introduced the award of a number of free student places to our flagship Annual National Conference. Nominations for these places, announced throughout the year, are via your university and are open to all final year students working in the perioperative environment.
AfPP will ask the winning students to submit a report which may be included in our Innovation, People and Products (IPP) magazine.
Keep an eye out for the announcements in AfPP communications and on our socials: @SaferSurgeryUK
I’ve attended several London study days and they’ve been brilliant for networking with other ODPs as well as fellow perioperative professionals from various Trusts. They’re great for keeping up to date with evidence-based practice as well as obtaining CPD hours.
AfPP is so beneficial to students because they gain access to a variety of useful research as well as receiving the monthly journals. I think it’s fabulous how they provide brilliant education events throughout the year!
