Educator of The Year Award
Purpose of Award
This award is an opportunity for AfPP student members to recognise, reward and celebrate exceptional educators who elevate perioperative education and stand out as leaders within their profession. It honours those who create inspiring learning environments, champion professional development, and set a standard that encourages others to advance the future of perioperative practice.
Award Information
Each student member can nominate educators from their workplace, university, or placement area by completing the Educator of the Year application form below.
The application will ask for a brief description of how the educator fulfils the following areas:
- Developing a supportive learning environment
- Building confidence in perioperative work activities.
- Make outstanding contributions to professional development by promoting evidence-based practice.
- Inspiring, involving and influencing competence in the workplace.
The winner will receive a free one-year AfPP membership and an official certificate following the award announcement. Our marketing team will also be in touch to arrange a feature article highlighting their achievement.
Application Process Criteria
- All AfPP student members are invited to nominate an educator who clearly demonstrates excellence in supporting the learning experience of perioperative students.
- When submitting an online nomination, student members should describe what makes the educator’s practice innovative, inclusive, and exemplary, and explain how it has positively enhanced their learning experience.
- You must be an AfPP student member to nominate an educator. AfPP Student membership is free for undergraduate, non-registered students. To become a student member click here
- Successful nominees for this award will go through to a panel for judging and the Announcement of the Educator of the Year Award will be made on the 8th June 2026.
