Will Windsor brings over two decades of perioperative experience to his role as Elected Trustee, newly appointed Chair of the Association for Perioperative Practice’s Inclusivity and Diversity Group and Educators SIG Lead. His career is defined by clinical excellence, visionary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of both patients and colleagues.
Beginning his journey as a Healthcare Assistant at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Will has continually broken new ground, most notably becoming the first Operating Department Practitioner to hold the position of Matron at University Hospitals Dorset. Throughout his career, he has championed high standards in surgical care and fostered dynamic, supportive teams across trauma, vascular, robotics, and surgical service leadership.
Will played a pivotal role in the development of the surgical hub at Llantrisant Health Park, a cutting-edge facility comprising 12 operating theatres dedicated to high-volume day surgery and arthroplasty. The hub is distinguished by its focus on staff wellbeing and the delivery of standardised, high-quality care.
Currently serving as Deputy Head of Nursing at Swansea Bay University Health Board, Will oversees theatre, pre-assessment, and day surgery services. His leadership continues to shape inclusive, resilient perioperative environments that prioritise excellence, equity, and compassion.
