Central Medical Supplies (CMS) has been appointed the UK distributor for QinFlow’s Warrior range of blood and IV fluid warmers, bringing a flexible approach to fluid warming across the continuum of emergency and acute care.
The QinFlow Warrior system has been designed to provide rapid, high-performance warming while accommodating a variety of infusion methods. A key feature of the range is its ability to support rapid intermittent infusion techniques, including push/pull, hand-pump and hand-operated rapid infusers.
This flexibility means the systems can be used across a range of clinical environments, including pre-hospital care, emergency departments, operating theatres and intensive care units. The range also supports use across different patient groups, including paediatric patients.
Designed for rapid warming
The Warrior lite is a compact and lightweight blood and IV fluid warmer, designed for environments where space and portability are important considerations. This includes resuscitation rooms, emergency departments and intensive care environments.
The system is capable of warming near-freezing blood to body temperature within seconds, with flow rates of up to 180mL/min from Keep Vein Open (KVO) infusion and up to 270mL/min for room-temperature blood.
Two battery options are available, allowing the system to be configured according to clinical requirements. The larger ‘extra power’ battery can provide warming capacity for up to six units of cold-stored whole blood or up to five litres of room-temperature fluids, while the smaller ‘lite’ battery provides approximately half this capacity.
Both battery options are designed to support warming of a cold-stored whole blood unit in less than three minutes. The additional capacity of the ‘extra power’ battery can be particularly useful when larger volumes of blood or fluid are required, including during intra-hospital transfers or incidents involving multiple critically injured patients.
Flexible power options
The Warrior lite Hybrid combines battery and AC operation, providing a seamless transition between power sources. This makes it suitable for environments such as emergency departments and trauma units where portability and continuity of operation may both be important.
For surgical and critical care environments where AC power is available, the Warrior lite AC provides a compact and straightforward warming solution. The system can also be converted to a Warrior Hybrid by adding a battery when portability is subsequently required.
The Warrior AC Station is designed for AC operation and provides a compact warming solution for surgical suites and intensive care environments.
Supporting warming throughout the patient pathway
Effective warming of blood and IV fluids can form an important part of maintaining temperature management during emergency and perioperative care. The modular approach of the QinFlow Warrior range allows clinicians and healthcare teams to select a configuration appropriate to the clinical environment and anticipated requirements.
By providing solutions that can be adapted from emergency and resuscitation settings through to surgery and intensive care, the Warrior range is designed to help address the practical challenges associated with warming blood and IV fluids when rapid infusion is required.
