As we expand our insourcing programme in Central Scotland, we are seeking experienced and motivated theatre professionals to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to support additional elective surgical activity, helping reduce waiting times while delivering outstanding patient care within a modern theatre environment.

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to safe, efficient, and patient-focused care across the perioperative pathway.

About the Role

Our insourcing team delivers additional theatre capacity through dedicated elective surgical lists across a range of specialties, including:

  • ENT
  • Urology
  • General Surgery
  • Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS)
  • Orthopaedics

Opportunities are available for:

  • Scrub Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs)
  • Day Surgery Registered Nurses
  • Theatre Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering safe, high-quality perioperative and day surgery care.
  • Supporting patients throughout their surgical journey, from admission and preparation through to recovery and discharge.
  • Preparing and maintaining theatre environments, equipment, instruments and documentation.
  • Contributing to efficient theatre flow, safe list delivery and effective patient throughput.
  • Supporting WHO Surgical Safety Checklist processes and clear clinical handovers.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention, patient safety and clinical governance.
  • Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre coordinators and wider hospital teams.

What We’re Looking For

Registered Practitioners (RN/ODP)

  • Current NMC or HCPC registration.
  • A minimum of 18 months’ post-qualification experience working within a theatre environment.
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Scrub
    • Anaesthetics
    • Recovery
    • Day Surgery
    • Admissions and Discharge

Theatre Healthcare Support Workers

  • Previous experience in theatres or sterile services is essential.

  • Ability to work flexibly and respond positively to changing service demands.

  • Occupational health clearance
