  1. Discussion Forum Rules

Access to the discussion forms is dependent on payment of the applicable membership subscription. Individual membership will reside with the individual, not an organisation and should not be shared. By registering with the forum, you agree to abide by the discussion rules. These include:

  • Do not submit comments that contain personal information e.g. home address or phone numbers
  • Do not submit comments that are unlawful, harassing, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually orientated or racially offensive
  • Do not swear or use language that could offend other forum participants
  • Do not advertise or promote products or services
  • Do not spam or flood the forum – only submit a comment once.
  • Do not resubmit the same, or similar comments
  • Keep your comments relevant to the discussion topic
  • Do not submit defamatory comments (comments that are untrue and capable of damaging the reputation of a person or organisation)
  • Do not submit comments containing some else’s copyright material
  • Do not impersonate other forum members or falsely claim to represent a person or organisation
  • Do not post comments in languages other than English
  • Do not use an inappropriate username (vulgar, offensive etc)
  1. Registration

Contributing to the AfPP web forum requires you to register as a member. Certain information is mandatory – such as a name and a valid email address. The personal details which you provide on registration will not be disclosed to third parties other than in exceptional circumstances e.g., the prevention of a serious crime.

  1.  Privacy Policy

AfPP are Data Controllers under the The Data Protection Act 2018 (GDPR). Our Privacy Policy is hosted on our website, and we work within the scope of this legislation. Where you provide personal information to the Association for membership purposes and posting on our forums it will be used only for the services you requested and as specified in the relevant joining processes. Links to other websites: AfPP are not responsible for the content of external websites and links to external sites should not be taken as an endorsement of their content.

4.  Copyright

All of the content presented on the AfPP site is, unless explicitly stated otherwise, is subject to a copyright held by AfPP. All intellectual property rights relating to AfPP remain or vest with us and our suppliers. It is permissible to link to information from this site if the original source is clearly stated, but the wholesale reproduction or partial modification of content is not permitted. Exceptions may be granted but only with the prior written consent from AfPP.

  1. Our Rights

You will acknowledge and accept that the AfPP site contains a large and varied amount of content. We therefore reserve the right to remove or delete in part or in its entirety any content that you submit should we feel that it violates these terms and conditions, or any guidelines or announcements that may be available to view elsewhere on AfPP. You will acknowledge and accept that we are neither liable nor responsible for the content that you submit. We will monitor such content as appropriate, and act accordingly should we be informed of any objectionable material.

You will acknowledge and accept that we have the right to temporarily or permanently remove your ability to post content, and that we further have the right to ban you from the AfPP should you break any of these Terms and Conditions.

When a change is made to this policy, the AfPP website must be updated, and the date of review added to the website.

      6. Online Safety Compliance

AfPP is committed to ensuring that its online platforms, including member-only forums, operate in accordance with the UK Online Safety Act 2023. As part of this commitment, we have implemented measures to protect users from illegal and harmful content. By using the AfPP Discussion Forums, you agree not to post or share any material that may be considered harmful, abusive, illegal, misleading, or otherwise in breach of the Online Safety Act. AfPP reserves the right to monitor, moderate, and remove content that violates these standards, and may report serious breaches to the relevant authorities. Users are encouraged to report any concerning content via the appropriate channels.
