A ‘Diamond’ of a Conference

Friday 2 – Saturday 3 August 2024
University of Warwick

The AfPP 2024 Annual Conference was a diamond of an event, celebrating 60 years of AfPP safer surgery.

There were brilliant, thought-provoking keynote speaker sessions on topics including the healthy side effects of kindness; civility saves lives; creativity in learning and development strategies in healthcare; a sepsis story, and how to create massive impact and be an effective zookeeper.

The two-day conference at the University of Warwick featured a packed education programme of speakers and workshops, a full exhibition area, networking opportunities galore, and our famous Gala Dinner.

As one of the largest gatherings of perioperative professionals in the UK, the AfPP Annual Conference is essential for anyone working in the perioperative field, and everyone left feeling informed, challenged and inspired.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the event such a resounding success, and great to see so many perioperative professionals in attendance.

Whole weekend was excellent from start to finish, including facilities, food, the gala, the organisation was superb that must have taken a lot of skills for it to run so smoothly.

Last week, I attended The AfPP Annual Conference in Warwick, where I had the chance to network with professionals and fellow students in perioperative care. The diverse lectures and workshops offered valuable insights into best practices, emerging technologies, and patient care. Engaging with expert speakers and participating in hands-on sessions deepened my knowledge and inspired me to apply these insights in my studies and practice. I especially valued the discussions on patient safety, theatre efficiency, human factors, and civility. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and hope to attend again next year.
